Frequently Asked Questions

Rooted in clarity, transparency, and care.

What types of therapy do you offer?

We provide individual therapy for adults navigating trauma, recovery, anxiety, mood instability, burnout, and life transitions. Our approach is evidence-based and person-centered, integrating modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Currently, all individual sessions are held via secure telehealth for Massachusetts residents. We are preparing to launch in-person Saturday group therapy sessions in the Boston area — stay tuned for updates or join our mailing list to learn when groups open.

How long are sessions?

Standard individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Group therapy sessions (when available) will run approximately 4 hours and include skill-building, discussion, and guided reflection.

Do you take insurance?

Wild Root Therapy is an out-of-network provider. We can provide superbills (receipts for reimbursement) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network benefits. Many clients also use HSA or FSA funds to cover session costs.

What is the cost of therapy?

Our session rates vary depending on service type. We believe in transparent, accessible care and can discuss rates during your consultation call. We also provide sliding-scale options for a limited number of clients.

How do I get started?

You can request an appointment directly through our Client Portal or contact us through our website form. Once scheduled, you’ll receive access to our secure portal to complete intake forms and review practice policies before your first session.

What can I expect in the first session?

Your first session is focused on getting to know you, your goals, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your history, explore what’s been working and what hasn’t, and begin identifying the tools and supports that best fit your needs.

How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions to establish consistency and momentum. Over time, sessions may move to biweekly or monthly as progress and stability grow.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session rate.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your privacy and confidentiality are protected by law and by our commitment to ethical care. Information shared in therapy stays between you and your therapist, except in specific situations required by law (such as risk of harm to self or others).

Do you provide crisis services?

Wild Root Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), go to your nearest emergency department, or contact local emergency services.

Do you offer supervision or consulting?

Yes. We provide supervision for MSWs and LCSWs and offer consulting services for treatment programs navigating BSAS, JCAHO, or DPH licensing in Massachusetts.
