Group Therapy

Coming Soon to the Boston Area

At Wild Root Therapy, we know that healing doesn’t only happen in one-on-one sessions. Growth expands in community — when people come together to share stories, learn new skills, and realize they are not alone.

Our in-person Saturday group therapy sessions will offer a supportive, structured environment for adults navigating trauma, recovery, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions. These 3-hour intensive groups will combine guided education, hands-on skill building, and authentic conversation designed to foster insight, connection, and change..

Our Experience and Approach

Between us, we’ve facilitated hundreds of therapy groups across hospitals, treatment centers, and outpatient programs throughout Massachusetts. Our experience spans topics including trauma recovery, emotional regulation, relapse prevention, mindfulness, communication, boundaries, and self-esteem.

Every group we lead combines clinical skill with lived understanding. Our goal is to make every session engaging, educational, and emotionally safe — a place where participants can both learn and experience meaningful connection.

At Wild Root Therapy, we believe in groups that are:

  • Structured yet human — skill-based and conversational.

  • Rooted in evidence — drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care.

  • Grounded in community — connection is the foundation of healing.

Why Group Therapy Works

Research consistently shows that group therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy — and sometimes even more powerful.

  • According to the American Psychological Association, over 75% of people who participate in group therapy report measurable improvement in their mental health.

  • Group therapy has been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety by up to 50%, especially when combined with individual work.

  • Participants often describe feeling less isolated, more motivated, and more confident in applying coping skills learned alongside peers.

In groups, you gain perspective, accountability, and community. You see yourself in others’ stories, and they see themselves in yours — and that shared humanity can be deeply healing.
